Growing Peanuts in South Jersey

Hi, I'm considering trying to grow peanuts. After doing some reading, I'm a bit scared now. It particularly has to do with the mold/aflatoxin issue. Having never grown them before, I wouldn't want to accidentally expose myself or my family to that. I don't know what to look for with moldy peanuts. Would the outside of the shell be obviously moldy? I plan on roasting all of my peanuts. I'm not a raised garden bed/container growing type of gardener. Last year I put a fresh batch of manure so my garden has a nice amount of organic matter though it still is NJ soil. Are they safe to grow? Are there varieties of peanuts that are safer than others? I was going to start them in the house and transplant them outside, like I've successfully done with other garden vegetables and fruits. Any advice to growing them here and safely? Have any of you grown them before? Any advice is appreciated.
