I called DH's pacemaker company and asked them directly. To quote: "As long as his pacemaker is a minimum of 6" from the magnets, it's fine." To be 6" from the magnets, he'd have to practically have his chest on the cooktop.

Older uni pacemakers may be a problem, but newer ones are fine. However, check with your pacemaker company. They keep a record of the type of pacemaker you have and can tell you right away.

for Biotechnology As I understand it, the magnetism can travel from pot to person when holding the handle of the pot. My husband has a pacemaker. I (personally) wouldn't chance his having a problem. I just wanted to make you all aware of the potential of a problem. It would definitely be to one's advantage to check with your doctor and also to warn any visitors that might come into your home.

I guess on that note, can induction de-magnetize your credit cards? I keep mine in my pocket and since I'm very tall --- pocket height would be about top of range height...

Again that's a unipolar model which are rarely used anymore. And that article if you looked is from 2006. Almost a full 10 years ago.
