This is a tricky, tiny floor plan. Tiny even by New York City standards. A sofa bed or day bed will fit. How did they show the model studio furnished?

A murphy bed might work, too.

Thank you so much! Very helpful! Luckily the closet doors are sliding. The space is very well designed for the size (the only reason I would even consider an apartment this small). You're right though, I hope the dimensions do not include the closet space, I don't believe they do. I was thinking of maybe getting a full size loft for the alcove which would allow for some storage/seating underneath. What are the thoughts on this idea? I know the ceilings are 9"

A loft bed makes sense. With dining/office space underneath. Then you can have a tiny sofa and TV in the main area. (Too bad they wasted all that space on the doorman, they could have given you a couple extra square feet!)

OMG I totally missed the fact there's no bedroom! So sorry... Then yes I'd opt for an 84" tight back sofa with a single seat cushion. You'd be sleeping end to end rather than on a pull-out bed. An excellent quality sofa is paramount for support.

A 42" deep sofa will give you the width of a twin bed.

If I were moving into such a tiny place, I would invest in something like this stuff. Wicked expensive, but much nicer than a loft bed:

Another solution is a day bed. Lounge by day, bed by night. But small if you have a partner.
