How will they continue to weather? Would it make a difference if this house was located in the Midwest as opposed to the coast? I'm in the Midwest and like the look of the natural red cedar shingles. I particularly like the stain colors but am not thrilled about the idea (and expense) of re-staining every 5 years or so. I also don't want to end up with black-ish colored shingles.
