I like the English chestnut

I'm thinking that the first and last are too dark and will show dirt...

I just did mine in special walnut and it shows dust and scratches very easily. Love it, but just letting you know.....

We have provincial and love it. It's a good, medium brown. I'm hoping it stays that way! Good luck!

I just realized the title was "white oak stain", we have red oak. Reading too fast! So sorry! I could still share a pic but you really need to see it on white oak :(

Based on how the colors are showing on my monitor, I would go with English Chestnut. It seems to strike that middle-ground - not too light, not too dark - the best.

Provincial and Jacobean get my vote.

Provincial. I think those very dark hardwood floors will soon look trendy

We have provincial and it has taken on an orangy appearance over time, which I do not like.

If you don't mind revealing scratches go dark otherwise probably the lighter finish would be more suitable. especially if there are pets.

have the finisher provide a touch up stick or stain pen for the scratches that do occur and are very revealing.

Just stained our white oak this week. This is 50/50 Jacobean and Special Walnut. I LOVE it! Really does well on the white oak.

Just go up to the Houzz search bar and enter Jacobean on white oak. Lots of photos. You have to read information about each picture very carefully. Sometimes it is red oak or another flooring, but there are still lots of photos with white oak.

Jacobean is very very dark. Beautiful, but dark. It will show EVERYTHING. in my opinion it is best used on furniture. I have Provincial. I think it is the perfect balance of light and dark. I've had it for four years and it looks as good as the day I had it done. However I have a Glitza finish on top. Glitza finish stinks to high heaven at first - I couldn't live there for weeks afterward. But it was worth it. I have two very large very mud loving dogs and it is holding up to them very well and also the floor is in the kitchen and powder room and I have no worries about water - barring an all out flood these floors will last for years.
