I just noticed a woodpecker flying out from under the eave of my outbuilding. Upon closer inspection there was a hole large enough for the w.p. to enter the attic of the building. I want to exclude the birds from entering by patching the hole but don't want to trap them in the building. Any ideas on how to allow them to fly out but not get back in?
