this is the other end of the room. Also ignore the project no longer going to be used. was once a lovely theater room- tore it out because we were sick of it now we have added the white cabinets and are at a loss for our direction

project should say projector. oops please dont ignore the project we need help!

Why aren't you keeping the projector if you use the basement for tv?

Don’t really see the use of all the kitchen look cabinets could have made that end a small games room with foosball dart board etc along with T.V space.

we were thinking craft storage and we do entertain down here sometimes and I was thinking we could add glass doors or shelves on top- the far end isn't picture and we will have a built in desk attached to this long wall of cabinets- eek I hope it wasnt a big mistake. We were thinking to put the couch on the long wall an L shaped sectional across from the brown paper on the wall- the smaller piece maybe an electric fireplace?

Hmmm, you tore out a projector and screen system? In a room that's mostly for TV? Where do you envision the new TV system? The width of the room seems too narrow to put a big TV on one of the long walls. Do you plan to put it under the window?

Over the cabinets if you are looking for storage or not, but you could do matching floating shelves. U look short of space there, so the only furniture could be a small game table or pub table with stools. If you are diy on the ceiling, but I know lowes and Home Depot have a grid system you attach directly to the joists. Or just drywall.

Sorry I forgot your ceiling was wood. If you don't want to take it down and don't like it your only option is paint. For flooring, I did vinyl plank in my basement that looks like wood.
