You really went to a lot of work to chill and then plant all those tulips. I'm excited for you! Please post pics in the spring.

It's spring!! (in southern California). It is hard to get a good photo because they are all along about 50 feet of driveway.

Your purply ones in the top photo with pink and yellow looks so pretty! Is that a delphinium? Great combo. Thank you for posting. Mine are just beginning and wouldn't you know the heat appeared.

Yes, that is a delphinium. The heat really doesn't seem to be bothering mine, it has been in the 80s but cool (50s) at night.

NIce! Exactly what I was hoping to see this morning, they look great. Here the tulips will be in bloom weeks before the delphinium and right now we have to struggle to find a green anything, even a weed.... soon though :)

Here they are today, with the sun shining through them. The earlies are pretty much done, but the late ones are now opening up. (You may need to click on the photo to see the whole thing).

How lovely!! I'm assuming the show is over now and am wondering what you plan to do with all the bulbs? Will you be pulling them out and storing them?

Yes, they are all gone. The show lasts about a month because I buy both early and late varieties. I pull them up and put them in the green waste container for the city to make into compost. I'll buy more next fall. But the wildflower show is starting!

The pastel salmon, pink & yellow colors of the late ones are gorgeous!

So gorgeous!!!!! Makes me impatient for spring to arrive up here!
