This is for a backsplash to go with that counter, right? In that instance, I think I'd go with white grout so there isn't too much going on once the usual clutter accumulates on the counter. You are off to handsome start; good luck with it!

I do not think that the Carrara marble will be too busy; it's very pretty! That is a pretty simple countertop, in my opinion, so you should be fine. I would stick with a white or very soft gray grout--something that blends in with the tile rather than sticking out. It is a natural stone, so your installer should seal the tile before it set, and then again after it is grouted. For routine cleaning, you should use a quality stone cleaner such as SCI's Marbamist.

I think it looks terrific with the countertop--not too busy at all. And I'd use a light gray grout. Don't worry too much about cleaning--backsplashes don't really get that dirty.

What was your countertop? Its very nice!
