Fabric thoughts

I think all of those scream outdoor fabric i would go look at some other fabrics and IMO none go in this space

I think they feel too country cottage for your room and don't compliment each other or your room's style. Find one fabric you absolutely adore (maybe start with a pattern with a few colors and work from there, so there is a bit of repetition. Also think about the feeling you want and look for fabrics that bring that into the room. Tired to show examples of fabrics that felt casual and with an earthy feel, given it seems you like flowers.

Are you planning to hang any artwork on the walls? The space above the sofa is calling for a large scale piece of art. Maybe find that first, and then pull accent colors for your fabrics from the art.

Houndstooth Navy would look awesome and very complimentary in your living room

Maureen I like your choices. I've seen some of those over the months... Can't remember where. Maybe tonic living? Like the idea of houndstooth... Maybe on the bench cushions.

I so agree that wall needs something. We just finished building so I really need to decorate and put personality in the room. Was thinking a narrow long sideboard with a collage wall above.

I do like a soothing tranquil space. Maybe a pop of color. I'm drawn to coral.

I like all the above fabrics, but none have gray in them. I really think you need to pull from the gray, since your sofa is that color. Grays mixed with blues and whites/ivories will tie both your wall color and sofa color together nicely.

From my monitor, the fabrics you chose look like they have lots of beige in them.

Perhaps sharing this image of ours from a living room design we did will help you move your living room along.

Tall drapes beside your french doors will make the french door seem taller (hung the same height as your windows).

The prints you said you like would look great on window seat cushions, with another print on pillows. You could combine roman shades (in a print) with drapes (in a solid linen).

The ottoman would look good with a large tray and a plant. --You have a wonderful start, with good looking chairs and paint, etc.. It's going to look great once you put a large piece of colorful art on the big wall!

Brenna, I've always loved fabrics as well..even when I shop for clothes I reach out to touch the fabric to test the quality! Your choices look much more modern than the originals. Wondering though if the floral and the stripe again feel a touch country..what about an Ikat pattern instead of the floral and a more modern stripe?

Here are some revise fabric selections. If you were to pick three or four, which ones?

Can we see closeups of your furniture? It looks like all the pieces are different colours and textures. Sofa is charcoal velvet? Ottoman is Aqua cotton? Chairs are beige linen? Rug is another beige? Synthetic? And your walls a pale silvery grey?
Your cushions really need to tie everything together. I think you need patterns that have Ivory (to contrast the sofa) and hints of charcoal and light grey/silver... And maybe tan to pull in the rest. Then you might be able to introduce one new colour.
Patterns are really important too. You seem drawn towards florals, which is fine. Ikats and geometric prints are more updated though. What are your thoughts on that? (Personally.. I'm not loving the houndstooth in your room.)

I'm with wickedwhite. The houndstooth isn't working for me either. I like 5, 6 and 7 or 4.

Leather for the bench seats...a fun fabric for whatever and a great painting.

I love built in benches. I love that you want to make your own cushions for them. Are we right in assuming you want seat cushions as well as throw pillows?
Judy is right that leather is durable and will stand up to three kids!
Another way for us to help you is to have you pick one fabric you love and then we can guide you with coordinating fabrics. Do you have a budget per yard in mind? Is there a specific site you shop from?

I'm very adventurous when it comes to crafting LOL yes, I will be buying 3 inch foam and making the seat covers myself. And would love to have throw pillows all over them... So that my kids can throw them on the floor LOL. I have to say, I think I'm drawn to all of the colors in fabric #4.

Yes you are right, it's a charcoal & slight off white. I like shopping at fabric.com, somethings I've also found,@ tonic living . I know you don't dig the houndstooth, but for some reason I'm into it! 100% no wicked white?

What are the names of the three fabrics you posted yesterday with the two houndstooth patterns?
Can we see them in a post next to a photo of your wall colour and your chairs?

I think you will find the houndstooth dizzying if used predominantly... Especially if you choose one with such a high contrast (navy and off white.)
But if you love it, I'm sure we can find a way to incorporate it.

Yes. I was trying to see how they look next to your paint and chairs. I'm not sure they have enough grey in them to work here, but wanted to see before eliminating them.

These are really pretty Dwell Studio fabrics...each combination works well with all shades of gray so thought you might like them.
