If the seeds are at a good price, it may be something to try. I have found that customers will say they want heirlooms till they see them with weird shapes and thin skin and then will buy the hybrid varieties of uniform tomatoes.

Thanks for the input. These are hybrids that are supposed to have heirloom flavor with hybrid shape and growth. But they do seem pricey to get just to play with. I should probably just stay with the known, though I do sell a lot of heirloom tomatoes, the open pollinated ones just don't yield well. And I can't get a much higher price for the heirlooms.

I've only found a few places online where anyone has mentioned the varieties and the lack of info makes me hesitant. They are nice looking and it's tempting to see if the flavor is any good. The cost of seed is high, but my main concern is the space they would be wasting if we don't like them. I'm thinking about trialing these just for us this year and growing more next year if we're happy with them.

I agree. That's why I was hoping to find someone who had already grown them. Johnny's explanation says they were chosen as the only outlet in the states. I would like to grow just two or three plants but the price per packet is high enough to make me hesitate. Want to split a pack? I still have one more order to put in with Johnny's.
