Need help with this room!

I would like your opinions on this room. Should I add another color? Don't mind the thing on the rug or the "chandelier" as those were just there when the picture was taken. Is this too much blue. Does it look cozy? Thank you.

I love it! I don't know that cozy is the word I'd use - but sophisticated and inviting, most definitely. I really like the way you've got several different shades of blue going on in the space, and I think that gives it enough personality that another color isn't really needed. I would probably add some more throw pillows, though. You could use one on each chair and a couple more on the sofa. I'd keep those fairly neutral, I think.

Well, I like the blue and white monochromatic look and I like the size of the artwork and the blue wall. Nice!

I think what makes a room look cozy are personal touches. I don't really see any right now, but maybe you'll add them in later.

You could add in some darker greiges and teals--more pillows and maybe a throw?---and make this your 'cool' room. Or you could add in a touch or green or red in some accessories.

I think it's beautiful. I wouldn't call it cozy. I think Jen described it perfectly by calling it sophisticated and inviting.

I'd pull the rug out away from the wall more. Have the edge of the rug just a few inches behind the front legs of the sofa.

A splash of tangerine somewhere might be fun, in a throw or a pillow or something.

I think it looks fabulous as well...love the blue and the art above the sofa!

I agree with Auntjen and would add some larger pillows to the sofa. ( ie 22x22)

I could see the small lumbar pillow now on the sofa placed on the chair instead. Could you get a 2nd one to match?

Maybe a tray on the ottoman as well...could place the floral arrangement in there along with a couple of books or other decorative piece.

    Love it!

Everything in the room is lovely and works together. I don't understand what the space is for? From the angle of the photo, I feel like it is a walk through space, not somewhere to settle in. Are the couch and chairs facing a TV? For me, it's not cozy because the people on the couch and chairs don't seem to be able to interact, makes it more like upscale hotel lobby - IYKWIM. Would you be interested in posting a floorplan to have others siggest furniture positioning? Can the chairs be at a right angle to the couch and facing each other? Pulling the rug forward to define a bigger space might be good also, or maybe the rug is to small. Definitely add more pillows to couch.

Thank you for all your comments. I would definitively add the tray on the ottoman, the pillows, and a throw. This room will be my living room and this setting is facing a tv wall. The wall is empty right now and it's all white. I don't have the tv mounted yet, but i was thinking of adding like a gray stand below the tv. Certainly interested in furniture positioning. I will add more more pictures from a different angle. Thank you all for your great comments!!!

I also think U have done a nice job. If U want coziness, add some warm colors. Warmth = coziness.

I agree that the rug looks too small. I would pull it out in front of the sofa to fill more of the room. I'd also like to see more of the aqua like the lamp. Maybe one touch of something that's different, like an amber color.

I would add some of the accent items mentioned in the teals/aqua to help draw in the lamps but other than that, it looks great (might comment on the rug placement if the whole room was in the photo)

What do you plan on putting at the navy wall with the mirror? I see you have chairs in a different room so I am guessing that will be a seating area as well?

Ok here is what i was able to change today. I added some pillows, and moved the lumbar pillow to one of the chairs as you suggested, i'm ordering another one for the other chair. I think they look better there. I also added am aqua/ teal throw on the coach that i think helped to easy the blue a little bit. I also added the tray and put some tangerine accessories in it. I also pulled the rug a bit forward but too much as i don't have a lot of space to walk in the front between the rug and the tv. The rug is 8 by 10. I also moved the chairs in, and i put them right in front of each other as you recommended. Like it better too!!! I took some other pictures of the room so that can see the full layout. I now have to take care of the front wall where the tv is going to go. What do you think of this now after the changes? Any suggestion for the front wall? Again, thank you for all your great ideas and comments!!!

Looks lovely, especially your second round with the camera! Very inviting.

Once you do get the TV, you may want to add something to the TV wall, so it's not just stark "TV". Could you find an additional, if smaller, painting with blues?

Beautiful and the chandelier is gorgeous. Love the aqua throw! I think the mirror would be better hung on the wall rather than leaning so there is a bit of separation between it and the mirrored console. Can you try pulling the white vase and the shell more toward the center so they just barely overlap but connect to the mirror? The flowers in the vase might need to be shortened so the arrangement is not as tall as the mirror. Check after (if) you hang the mirror. I'd prefer nothing under the console or something more substantial than the bowl/basket there now. You also might want to paint out the outlet covers under there if they remain uncovered. Also, there doesn't need to be much (or any) room between the rug and the TV console, assuming you're OK with walking on the rug. :)

Looks great! didn't realize that wall was so close, so I can see how pulling the rug out wasn't as easy as I thought!

    Looks beautiful!

The throw also picks up on your other lovely art on the right. Love the chandelier too:)

I agree with Delilah in perhaps hanging the mirror just off of the console.

I would also remove the accent bowl underneath...

I don't think you need the throw, it doesn't fit the style you have to my eye, and I think the color is not right. I would remove the accent bowl under the console as well. I really like navy and white, nice room.

Great work! You've made an already pretty space even better. I would nestle the pillow that's currently in the center of the sofa up against one of the two that's in the corner. They look a bit too much like little "soldiers" all lined up right now. I like the addition of the throw. I would also remove the bowl from under the console table and the vase that looks like it has blue dots on it, but that's because they both appear to be glass and it makes me nervous to have glass items just sitting on the floor like that.

Love the addition of the tangerine "pops"!

i think it looks nice! but, from your pictures, it doesn't look like you have space to put a table under the chand-- if a table isn't going under it, it looks like it's hung too low! (looks like people's heads will hit it??)

I'd get orange/tangerine pillows for the sofa.

And I think something like this tangerine velvet lumbar pillow would look beautiful on the blue chairs

Love the room. Does anybody think the art above the sofa needs to be moved down a couple of inches?

I see your point about the artwork being too high. It's hard to tell because the couch is a low back couch. In this case the only way to tell is if you're sitting down on one of the blue chairs and look at the picture. If you have to strain your neck to look at it then it's too high.

I like the rug a little further out as you now have it.

I do think think the artwork could be lowered a tad...

Love the tangerine pillows too, but then would remove the aqua throw.

    Looking great!!

I love your decor and the colors!

Love your decor, and approve of all the additions. I would lower the art work behind the sofa, however, about 4” or so, so it’s more connected with the sofa. That’s the only thing, to me, that’s “off”. And would love to see a pop or two of tangerine!

I worry that in this case, a "pop of color" might bring the room down and make it look less sophisticated?
