it is the drippage, or rather the restaurant mentality of little critters attracted to drippage!

No, not kid friendly and we have to assume all times that kids will find a way to open this or that and get to knives or whatever. The best I can do is keep them in a tight container inside a cabinet out of reach.

It is nice though but not for me.

I like the idea and it would be wonderful for a space with limited counter space, but I cook quite a bit and it's not always convenient to go back and forth into the pull out to get a different utensil. Much prefer a nice knife block for the counter.
