No, that looks awful. Contact them (nicely) and tell them it's unacceptable.

Does seem large and looks like there should be more sealer.

If they don't come thru for you, we got great results a couple of times with a letter sent to them, outlining the problem, the timeline, and saying, "If this can't be resolved by this date, we will need to send a copy of this letter in with a complaint to the State Contractor's Licensing Board."

A contractor doesn't have any business trying to fabricate counter blanks. You need an actual granite fabricator who is a MIA member and who will cut your stone from the industry standard large slab material that you personally select.

It is a terrible seam, it should be to the left or right, not in the center of the sink. Do not settle for this or pay bill until you are fully satisfied.

There is nothing wrong with the placement of the seam. Just the workmanship.

Patti, et al, I had an almost identical center of the sink seam problem done last week in my ubatuba countertops. The sides were jagged and the epoxy was a dull, matte finish about 1/8" wide with several holes in it. when I said it wasn't acceptable, the attempt to fix it ended up with them grinding down the stone to the point the shine was gone. Smudge look on either side of the seam. The supervisor of the installers came a few days later and polished and sprayed several times and it still looked terrible. Now the company is going to replace a large section of the granite and put a seam about 6" to the right of the sink which give me a seam joining the 2 perpendicular pieces forming the L shape of my counters. They will be cutting onsite! (the other option was to have the seam off-center by 3 or 4" in the front of the sink to get rid of the bad area, but I said no.) I have seen seams that are practically hairline and I can live with that. But I am nervous about them making a 24" cut here at the house. How can that cut leave smooth edges? I'm terrified of the results. Any feedback?
