Watching The Post-Christmas Weather

In case you've been too preoccupied with the holidays to pay much attention to our upcoming weather, guess what? The weather is about to go bonkers. Depending on where you live in OK, you may be about to have a winter blizzard, or maybe spring-like floods. Or light snow, sleet, a wintery mix or some orther sort of unsettled weather that cannot yet be firmly/accurately predicted.

I sure am going to miss the daily highs in the 60s and 70s that we've been enjoying recently!

The models have been all over the place, and much uncertainty remains, but as the weekend draws closer, the NWS is trying their best to make us aware of what sorts of weather may be coming.

There's a Flash Flood Watch up for southcentral, southeastern and eastcentral OK, and then there is a complicated Special Weather Statement for much of the rest of OK detailing what sort of winter weather might be coming.

I've linked the webpage of the Norman office of the NWS below. There's a large selection of graphics there, designed to show us what to expect from the still-fluid (pun intended) forecast.

Luckily, Santa Claus will be here in OK, will get his work done and then will be gone before the weather goes downhill. Hopefully. We wouldn't want for our rapidly-changing weather to make Santa mad.
