Victory is still a great source of seeds and Mike has always been super helpful to me when I've had any questions or concerns.

Also, people have some odd ideas about big seed companies. Companies like Victory concentrating on open-pollinated and heirloom seeds for the small quantity retail market and seed preservation aren't the sort of company that big agricultural corporations are going to be interested in colonizing. A company like Victory is a labor of love that's never going to be wildly profitable, with a business model that deliberately does not embrace technological innovation in its products. That's not what large corporations are looking for.

Just starting seeds of Arctic Rose tomato and nicotiana flowers from Victory and later I will sow seeds for a couple of great melons also from Victory. Yay for Victory seeds!

Wow, gorbelly, you hit the nail on the head regarding our motivation for doing the work that we are doing! Sometimes, our mission of preserving biodiversity (and charitable giving) feels like a REALLY lonely fight. There is so much "noise" (information overload) in our society these days, that as a mission-driven organization, not a fiscally motivated business, we are increasingly being masked from the public's view by corporate marketing budgets. For the past several years we have really been feeling these effects. Word-of-mouth recommendations have always been our primary form of "advertising" and yours is greatly appreciated.
