I had a very good experience with the Larger Dewalt Miter
Saws at Habitat building Prebuilds for framing homes and trimming homes (6
years). The only problem we noticed was
some volunteers would not let the saw reach it’s full RPM and it would grab the
material (creating danger to the user and labor on the saw). Using one from on a long extension (approx 25 yards in the field) the low RPM took some trim from me. We learned to listen for the full RPM “Blade Sound”
which was easily heard running from a close outlet or generator.

For Framing/Trimming it was a very good saw. I still have my 1970s Sears 10" Radial Arm that
is more versatile and more dangerous.
Sears offered 50-75.00 credit to return the 150.00 saw at one
point. I still use the Workhorse “Carefully
and will not loan it”.

It would be a good saw if the most you see yourself cutting are 2x8's or 4x6's. I have a sliding Hitachi with the soft start that I really like. BTW Amazon will ship one to your door for $219

I like the versatile saws for the small home use vs in a
production shop. I feel I have used it
yearly but initially on major handyman Jobs.
Tailoring to jobs cost no end to adjusting and Loading Wheels (attached). The Miter type Saws would require less Setup. It has not been out of the garage or off the
drive since the mid 90s which has saves some adjusting. We built Miter Saw Support Jigs 8' long at Habitat
for the traveling saws to sites. That
made them very effective on one cut or 20 repeated cuts as in the warehouse
(attached).
