I loved my instant hot water dispenser!!! I used it many times a day. We had a really cheap one from a big box store that gave out after six months. The replacement was the middle of the line one at Lowe's. It worked great for the 10 years we were in the house. FYI-make sure people know it's hot water, not filtered water.

Love my middle of the road one. Last house we lived in had one that was original to the 1986ish house and still worked fine. We've been in our current home roughly two years and there've been no problems. I use it constantly. Not just for tea or soup, but to clean and to sterilize toothbrushes etc. I use it in kids thermos' everyday to keep their lunches warm. Extremely useful. I describe it as the thing I didn't know I needed until I had it.

Mark Bishack- it does bear repeating. I forgot once- but only once. And I had to train my kids to never touch it unsupervised. I am also careful when guests are over.

When I had house guests I put red tape on it with the word HOT in black letters. I never had anyone burn themselves.

What do you use them for? Speeding up your pastamaking? Because it seems like a lot of energy going into keeping a jug of water at near-boiling temperatures for something like that. We had one in my house growing up, and I don't recall any use for it at all...

I use it to warm my mugs or teapots before pouring coffee or tea. I make tea all the time, instant oatmeal for my children, among other things. I find that I use it multiple times a day and have really missed having one since ours broke. I live in a colder climate though.

We have had one for a week, LOL. You will just need to up your tea budget. An electric kettle is a good alternative and faster then the stove, but we really do love it already. It is an insta-hot.

We have had one for 14yrs now. I don't remember the brand. We got it at Lowe's. I pad $100.00 for the first one, and it lasted for 13 yrs. We're on our 2nd now. I love it! I really missed it, when our first one went out, until we got the 2 nd one. I think that it is an Insinkerator for some reason. I use it for tea, hot cocoa,jello, etc. Now, I think that you can also get filtered hot water. That would be terrific. You're gonna love it. Well worth the $!

I absolutely love my instant hot water. It's an insinkerator. Installed it in our new home back in 1996. I've used it for coffee, tea, soup, hot chocolate. I fill my pots for a quicker boil for pasta. I even OVERused it to warm up my kids' (now 8, 16, 18, 19 and 22 yrs old) bottles out of the fridge. I would 1/2 fill a large glass and place the bottle in and it would warm the bottle just right. Have never had any issues with the tank. Replaced the faucet about 8 years ago. We have been in the middle of an addition for a couple of years and are putting in a whole new kitchen and am ready to upgrade to one of the newer, more aesthetically pleasing faucets that are out on the market now. Absolutely a must have for busy life!

I wasn't aware this was even an option till I went to Lowe's to see some faucets I had been considering in person and noticed their display. It sounds amazing as we are huge tea drinkers and now I cant quit thinking about it. Does anyone know from personal experience how hot it keeps the water? I like my tea very hot, as we do our instant oatmeal, grits, etc...
