Symphoricarpos albus is a native shrub growing in my garden. It moderately spreads by suckers for the most part and hasn't been any trouble to control. I hardly notice it until winter when the berries do their thing. It's more of a left field type of shrub in the wilder parts of the garden rather something you'd want up front. In the wrong place it's considered a weed.
