Most of Burpee seeds are already on the racks at BBS. And the prices are much lower than online.

You may also check BBS' racks before ordering online. The racks are packed in most places by now. I got BETTER BOY, BIG BOY, BIG BEEF at Home Depot.

Just an FYI. You can buy the older varieties at the BBS's like Big Boy, Better Boy, Brandy Boy, Big Beef, ect. They are cheaper ranging from 1.25 to 1.99 or so but they have very few seeds in the package. Sometimes 12 or sometimes less than that. Those varieties will cost you 3 to 4 dollars online but you will also get 2 or 3 times the amount of seed. If it is something you will plant for 2 or 3 years and can get free shipping it could be cheaper in the long run. Newer varieties like Jersey Boy, Super Sauce, Steak Sandwich, ect. are generally not available except direct from Burpee.

I just opened a packet of Big Beef to to find out:

there was 40 seeds (ferry Morse ) in it and I paid $1.59 +tx.. I bought 2 packets. This should last me for a while. I am going to grow maybe 3 plants and I will sow maybe 5 seeds. I might germinate few more to practice grafting too.

Last year the Brandy Boy pack had 25 seeds ( Burpee).

Yeah, If you intend to grow a lot more then maybe it is better to buy in bulk.

Ha! I just looked myself at an open packet of Big Beef and it had 30 left. I know I bought some others that were way less. Maybe Big Boy and Better Boy? Almost a year ago, I guess my memory isn't what it used to be. :)
