The retaining ring that secures the dome can be tough to coax off, especially if you don't remember to turn it. An LED bulb could be the answer, if it actually lasts as long as advertised.

Sorry I only noticed this just now. I have had the smaller Concept II in white for a few years and have just had another one installed by an electrician--yesterday--in a Florida condo. I think they are great value considering the handsome looks and the cooling power. I would not hesitate. I have not yet had to replace the light, however. I ordered mine on Amazon.

Have had 2 for 6 months. No problems yet.

We've had the ceiling hugger model for almost 5 years--it's fantastic. Nearly silent and well-balanced--we use it daily year round and love it completely.

I swapped out an old.fashioned Casablanca for the new Minka...the room looks a hundred percent better with that small change.

I'm thinking this will be necessary in a small room where the fan light is the only ceiling light. Otherwise people will have to hunt for the remote upon entering the room.

Yes, mine came with the holster. I have no wall control, only the remote. The fan light is the only ceiling light in the room. We decided not to hang the remote, just keep it next to the bed and so far it has been fine.

Didn't buy their switch...used this one on the left. The little slide controls speed. Only thing it doesn't do is reverse. Wall switches are nicer than remotes so I would get one, but there are other options if you want it to match your other switches.

I've had 4 minka aire fans. First ones put in a new build 12 yrs ago and every house since. Never had a problem. They are beautiful. switch plate buttons are a little doughy and can get difficult to push but they work. Quiet fans.

Do NOT buy one of these pieces of garbage! I have one in the house I bought a couple of years ago and the fan light goes on randomly all days of the week, forcing me to turn it off manually using the remote. The instructions require a cumbersome process to reset the frequency by shutting off a breaker, removing parts, and using tools. It is hardly worth the time and effort to make something work properly. Instead, I will likely rip it off the ceiling, replace the entire unit with a different brand and product, and then use my trusty hammer to finish off the Minka fan.
