judging by the pic you should remove all fruit. You don't exactly have a lot of leaves on that tree. general rule, 40 leaves per fruit.

Beautiful tree! I have a variegated calamondin that has a few flowers now and a variegated Yen Ben that doesnt even have flowers but tons of leaves. So I am excited to see your picture! You should follow the advice and remove fruit, but honestly I would not have the heart to do so.

I'd get rid of all but one. But that's just me.

The fruit will turn yellow like other lemons when ripe.

I, too, find it a pretty easy citrus to grow...and it's the only citrus I've been able to root. However, getting mine to set fruit and hold onto the fruit has been fairly difficult. Some of that is my fault, of course.

Have any of us container growers seen a single ripe variegated lemon yet?

Hobby, I've gotten a very small lemon from my variegated tree.
Here it is pictured beside a Moro blood orange. This small lemon grew on an entirely albino branch, which I think accounts for the miniscule fruit. When I cut it open, it wasn't as pink as I expected, but the taste was nice. I think future fruit will be better, though.

1. Albino branches??? How kooky and awesome! I didn't know you could get such a thing. On my variegated calamondin I do have one totally normal non variegated leaf that I always thought was cute.

2. Would you believe that I had no idea they are supposed to be pink inside?? I guess that makes sense considering the name lol. I am now rededicating myself to the success of mine... I can't wait to harvest my own!

3. The size of that lemon is so endearing! I could totally see microlemons being the new 'it' thing. ;)

12/26/16 it's grown some since Nov. I currently have five new fruit. and dozens of blooms to still open. I will harvest this one around the second week of January and hopefully it will still ripen. This was the runt from the last batch and I want the energy to go into the new fruit set and making them big and healthy for spring.
