Dining room design help needed!

We recently moved into our home and I am a bit stumped how to decorate the dining room walls (currently one with mirror and one with window). My hubby bought the small buffet table and I'm finding that it is small on both walls. The accent chair will be moved and isn't staying there. How would you suggest incorporating the small buffet so it looks like it belongs? Im not tied to much except the dining table and the buffet table will be staying. Also, we have a toddler :). Thanks!!

Here's a better photo. I will need something taller than the plant but we are thinking we want rustic and organic for on the hutch.

Center the cabinet in mirror and put a tall arrangement on top. Add a small chair to each side of the cabinet. That should balance the space.

consider turning the table 90 degrees and

1. placing the cabinet on the wall where the chair is in the pic. add a larger picture [or mirror] over to balance out the window.

2 put the large mirror vertically in the same space beside the window...balanced on the wall of course.

3. or try the mirror on the short wall, either side lr or dr
1. depending on your use of the space, with the table turned you have a great space on the ?stair wall? for a pair of dining armchairs and small table. my clients and their friends love having a relaxing place to sit after a big dinner while others are still at the table, sometimes for a more private conversation.

Thanks Keitha! Unfortunately the room is small and there is only about 4 feet between the mirror wall and the dining table. So accent chairs would be very tight and look funny.

Great ideas katinahat! I will try putting the mirror very ally beside the cabinet on the smaller wall with the window (Did I understand you correctly?). Love the idea of the accent chairs on the stairwell wall but that is the walkway to the back 1/3 of house which is the kitchen. I think it might be a bit awkward to walk around the chairs to get to the kitchen vs a straight path from front door to kitchen.

Cool piece! I agree with option 1 - put it to the right of the window where the arm chair was pictured with something hanging above it to balance the window. Good luck!
