Rock wool for starting seedlings indoors?

I have been starting my seedlings indoors with Johnny's seedling mix and it has been working pretty well. Recently I decided to try some DWC hydroponics to pass the time over the winter and did a side by side test. I started some seeds in rock wool, and the same seed varieties in the Johnny's mix. The rock wool seeds sprouted much faster and were extremely consistent- each seed sprouted to the same height at the same time. The seedling mix had the usual result where seeds in some cells were ahead of other cells. All eventually sprouted, but just at different stages. So it got me to thinking, is it ok to just use the 1" rock wool cube method for my tomatoes and peppers that will be going outside eventually as well? I haven't been able to find anyone doing this, so assume there is something I am missing. Appreciate any help.
