Vanilla Doom?

My vanilla is in critical condition. I went on a trip and came back to see it almost dead and rotting, what do I do!

Its staying alive by a thin stem at the bottom, quite frail, I'm guessing this happened by rotting cauising it to fall, FYI, there are tiny gnats flying inside, does that affect it?

    Looks very wet? What is it potted in? What kind of light? How long have you had it?

    Sorry for all the questions but it is hard to help without more detailed information.

    Your plant looks very soggy, appears to be mold on the substrate (sphag?). These plants need good light.
