Backsplash for white Macaubas quartzite countertops?

I'm using white Macaubas quartzite for kitchen countertops. Island cabinetry will be painted BM Hale Navy and outer cabinets white. What should I do for tile backsplash? Keeping to a refined New England Cape feel with hints of new modern.

Thank you Brandi. I agree let the blue cabinet and macaubas quartzite stand out. Just getting tired of standard subway. May do a longer 12x4" design.

    So. Gorgeous. Wow.

Carrara marble goes well with navy and white/grey quartzite. You would need to use super white grout. And of course white subway tiles is an option also with white grout

I have some serious kitchen envy of this. Can you post pics when done?

Below are pics of navy cabinets with carrara tile, and one with white subway. The carrara gives a more lux, high end look and the subway gives a more casual modern look

I dont think marble will compete at all. Look at the inspiration pics they all have marble counters similar too her quartzite. The white grout is key to giving it a subtle look.

Here is another kitchen with both a statement quartzite and a marble mosaic that looks amazing

For your backsplash, what about something sparkly like a MOP (mother of pearl) or glass mosaic in a small minibrick pattern? Your kitchen is GORGEOUS! (These pics are from the the site somewhere...)

Would love to know what you decided and also how you are liking the Quartzite. I was leaving toward White Macaubus over marble because supposedly Quartzite is much more durable and stain resistant. However, other threads are making me re-think things. Also, I really wanted classic Carrara marble floors and wonder if they will clash with the White Macaubus.

What did you decide on? I'm also using White Macaubus for my counters and trying to figure out the backsplash.

Still a work in progress renovation but I just installed my white macuba and still deciding on back splash I don't want to compete ....some ideas are these 2...the pattern one would be around the stove would be surrounded by milky white tile...

Not sure if it's too late to post but I have white macaubas and I installed a brushed marble tile.

That's really pretty! And what a great choice -I ended up doing marble and mother of pearl it's still getting installed took me what seems like forever to find something to pull out the gold hardware --should be finished next week

@ncicero - I absolutely LOVE your backsplash choice! Gorgeous! Would you be kind enough to share the name of the tile and possible distributors? Thanks so much!

Thank you--Sure it's from tilebar.com marble and mother of pearl called Ayra

Frances what did you end up choosing? I have the same items (Hale Navy island, white perimeter and white macubas counters). I’m curious as hubby doesn’t want subway. Would love to see your finished kitchen!

@ncicero, LOVELY choice in backsplash! I've been eyeing MOP (mother of pearl) since the beginning of time and now to see it combined with various marbles is making it hard to decide. I LOVE your white cabinets and walnut island. The counter top on your island is such a beautiful thickness and edge detail with your gorgeous sink! Your kitchen is AMAZING!!!! Please post the after pics once your backsplash is installed! BEAUTIFUL WORK! Your kitchen is a show-stopper and should be posted in a story.... ;-)

    @Laura Mac
Thank you! It took years to plan this kitchen. We doubled the counter top in quartzite for the thickness.
....Funny you say that -as I might be featured here on Houzz next year.
    Here’s another 2 pics
I have better pics but this is what I can find right now

ncicero, do you have a wider picture of that stove wall? I wanted to see all the cabinets and counter with the idland :0) beautiful!

@ncicero, how fun!! You deserve a nice feature on Houzz! It's so beautiful. Take more pics!! It's gorgeous!

@ncicero so pretty! I’m currently deciding between a black, brass, and white backsplash or the same mother of pearl that you finally decided on right now also! Can I ask why you didn’t choose that black and brass one? Love how your final choice looks!
Also, where are your pulls from? How do you like them?

I was about to say that you should consider using Macaubas for the backsplash too as it would create a gorgeous flow but what you did is very, very pretty, too!

Thank you Aqua Kitchen and Bath Design Center I considered that option -it’s a clean look and sometimes sterile but because I was incorporating gold as my hardware I needed the flecks from the mother of pearl
