I shortened the harp so gold table and lamp are 60" and other table and lamp is 56". Better?

Now just waiting on my 2 lamps and settee for the bedroom. After that just a mirror over the dresser, a painting over the fireplace and a few things for the walls but no hurry on those. I'll just wait until I find some things I love. It all needs to be done by March 26 because we're having my daughters wedding shower here.

Got my 2 lamps and my settee for my bedroom. I love it all! Getting close to revealing the whole thing but a couple things first. I need some advice about mirrors over dresser. Thinking silver in a large round or possible two ovals. The dresser is really long. That and any wall ideas are appreciated. The flowers on the dresser won't stay there

I don't know why but the bed always looks kind of tan in the pics but it's light gray and the settee matches perfectly.

Oh and here's what I'm thinking above the bed.

Your lamps and settee are very pretty! I would keep the pillows on the settee simple - one lumbar or a fur pillow in one corner. Here are some mirror examples. I don't think I like two ovals.

Hi Karen! The pillows on the settee are from the bed so they don't actually go there. You're right about the 2 ovals not looking right. What size mirror do you think? The dresser is 68" long.

If you do rectangular, 42" - 48"w. I'm not sure what sizes are available for round mirrors, but I would think you definitely don't want it to extend to the top of the windows. If you find a 36" you could put something tall on either side of it on the dresser, or do an asymmetrical arrangement with the mirror to one side. I would recommend cutting out a template of whatever round one you like to check the size on your wall. Typically you want whatever you put over the dresser to be 1/2 to 2/3 the width of the dresser.

One more step completed! Curtains are up but need to put some weights on bottom to get them to hang better and need a magnetic cover over registers because their blowing my curtains up like a balloon! Just my dresser mirror and a few wall things and it's fabulous!

Karen, in looking at the mirror pics I don't know if the round mirror will not be enough. I think that's why you said to get two tall things next to it. In your opinion would a rectangle be better? I was just trying to stay away from the cookie cutter dresser/ mirror but maybe a rectangle hung sideways like you have would fill it in better? And would silver be your choice? I have the silver in the nightstands, lamps and furniture pulls.

I noticed at the bottom of the bed a small set of steps ..either you have a very short hubby or an old cat/dog !

Would a 41x 37" rectangular mirror fill this space? The dresser is 69" long.

You've put two different measurements for the dresser in your comments so I don't know which one is correct. The "rule" is that you want your art or mirror to be about 2/3 the length of the dresser. Also, I would make sure the mirror is below the window trim. You can use painters tape to tape the outline on your wall. As far as the round mirror - yes I think it could work if you can find one that is big enough to get close to the 2/3 rules but doesn't go above the Windows. Does that make sense?

Hi! Got the curtains up but is this considered "puddling" or just too long?

I had them up with one panel but it wasn't full enough so added another.

To me they are just too long. Puddling only works with curtains that are so light that when they hit the floor they just "pool" there. If the curtain creases or bulges, they are just too long.

The bottom of curtains should be about 1/2" from the floor. If the curtains are not hanging straight, sew weights in the bottom. will help keep the curtain hanging nice and straight.

Hi Susan! What do you think about this mirror? Is it too much? I don't want things to start looking cheap with all the mirror and silver.

That is very pretty. I like it. Hang it horizontally? Make sure it is the correct size for over dresser.

Here are a couple candlesticks I have. Would these look good on this dresser since the candlesticks are black and the dresser is dark brown?

I would find and hang mirror 1st before accessorizing the surface.
