Your input on a new drain plug system.

about 5 minutes to answer.

For my masters graduation project I am redesigning a drain plug system. The
results will be mostly based on your feedback. I will keep you informed about
the results if you’d leave your email address.

in a mature stage of the project I will need users to help test the prototypes.

I would definitely post this on the plumbing forum.

The drawing in your post includes a lot more than just the plug so I don't know what element we're supposed to focus on in the drawing. If you really want to just focus on the plug I would only include a picture of the plug.

I think you should start with the baseline question, when was the last time you used your drain plug? For those of us with a single sink and a garbage disposal the answer may not be very recently or if our sinks are new enough it may be that we have not yet used the plug at all.

Below is a photo of a supposed Japanese drain. I thought this was just a brilliant idea and could find nothing like it in the US.
