srabontiroy, I prefer the balance of the mirrors, but I don't think the design of those particular mirrors work well with the fireplace. The larger print to the left of the fireplace is a good size...maybe another of the same size on the right. Not crazy about the black/white of those prints with the fireplace. Maybe a couple same size prints in warmer colors due to the fireplace, wall and floor. Also, and there's too much on the mantle. Personally, I prefer mantels to be simply done...less is always more. There are a zillion ways, as in this one example from Houzz. Sorry, you didn't ask about the mantel, but it's all part of that particular wall.

Neither is good. So many things wrong about this. The pair of chairs are fine but you do not need those round tables stuck in the corner. Pictures aren't right either. Are these personal photos----don't do that. Also, never stair-step two pictures as shown on the right side. If you want to keep those pictures then they need to be hung one above the other. I also don't like the top picture. You have a pair of what looks like some kind of intricate mirror on each side. You already have a pair of chairs. You need two different pictures . They can be a similar size but better yet do one that is horizontal and one that is vertical. You also need to declutter your mantle.

Here are some ideas I would copy for your room. They were probably all done by designers so they have good points.

This would be lovely on your wall. Invest in some tall oak bookcases. Fill them with 1/3 pictures in similar frames, old silver or pewter, to match your country french vibe, one third stuff, and one third space. Place your mirror over the fireplace and two simple largish pots with greenery flowing out.

If you do bookshelves, three maximum items per shelf and then reduce to two and one and start all over again for more shelves.
