Help! 1912 house. Recessed medicine cabinet and wainscot issues

Does anyone know a solution for when a new frameless recessed medicine cabinet will be installed yet the bathroom wainscot is high - about 54" - and comes half way up the mirror? This is in an addition.

Our builders say that the Kohler verdera cabinet (K-99001) must be partially recessed, with about 1.4" sticking out over the tile. The trouble? The sides don't look very nice. I'm just wondering what the solution for this issue typically is. The cabinets are needed for storage.

The protruding 1 1/4" is finished part of the cabinet frame which is meant to be exposed (that is the way it was designed). Solution would be finding another cabinet with less of a frame being exposed, but most of the recessed cabinets will have an offset for the door to work.

By the way that is a very nice cabinet and it looks real good when installed the way it should be installed.

Thank you. I thought that too - part of med cabinets are usually exposed. All I know is he looked at it and thought enough would stick out that we might want to build something to cover. I think we'll keep them and try out the edging that builder suggested. I was hoping maybe someone else here had tried that too.
