Recessed light --- good LED or stay with incandescents?

I have a bit of a dilemma. My contractor installed 4 inch housing for two recessed lights in the shower and bathroom. I would like to continue using an incandescent bulb, not do LED. What is the most wattage I can get in this small can? I have a 100watt in there now and it turns off and on, so I suppose that's overheating the cans.

He instructed me to get trim for the outside, and am guessing there's no way to keep the 100watt. The person at the light store suggested an LED conversion, but I think I will hate those lights (I've never met a halogen bulb, LED, or CFL especially that I can stand). Is there a nice trim that I could use for the shower, and just downgrade to a 60 watt? Or is there a nice LED conversion that has truly beautiful warm light?

I love the bathroom; it has a spa feel so I don't want to ruin it with bad light.
