They look like tomatoes to me. I see regular leaf and potato leaf varieties.

As linda said, they are tomatoes and there are 2 varieties : Regular leaf and Potato leaf. Mybe you should separate them.

At this stage they sure look like tomatoes.

Try to separate them and take few more close up picture.

If you have ever started tomato from seed, should be identify them easily.

No question in my mind, they are tomato seedling, with typical purple stems as well. Definitely it must have come with the soil that you've used.

They are growing out of sphagnum moss. I started passion seeds in the very same moss once before. Big mystery. I am also surprised they are growing at all. It gets about 40 at night. Could both of these types come from one tomato?

I soaked seeds inside the tomato, so I could see one type.

Sounds like mystery. But I see more than peat moss in there.

About temperatures : 40F low is fine with tomatoes. The reason they grew out by themselves is the proof. I have had them down to 36F many times in the past.

If you want to keep them, maybe you should separate them and re pot singly.

There is potting soil there too. The moss is in the center where the matos are growing. I will transplant a couple.

If the container is outside, perhaps it was visited by a mouse or a bird who pooped out some seeds?
