Flooring

Whenever I've loved flooring, it's been Jacobean stain or a mixture of walnut. Would you be able to advise me as to which pre finished oak would give us the same look and feel? And where we can find it in Canada. Much appreciated!

Patsy, touch base with Ultimate Hardwoods. They are based in Canada and frequent contributors to Houzz discussions. They will likely be along shortly.

I'm not familiar with factory finished colors. Why not go with a finished on site and get your exact color. Last couple times I bid against another contractor my price was almost equal to a quality factory finished floor. That's supply, install, sand and stain. You can contact me directly if you like.

Thank you both for your quick response - I see that Ultimate Hardwood is in Edmonton. Our new home is in Angus, ON - near Georgian Bay. I was thinking on site finish but my husband thought it would be messy and costly. I will source out local finishers. Again, so grateful for your quick response.

It's not messy anymore. Technology has come along way since those days. Most well rounded sanders now operate dust containment systems. Also since your in southern Ont you can probably get some really good deals on flooring. Hire only well reviewed NWFA certified pros. There are many in your area. Look them up on woodfloors.org
Did you say your in wasaga? I'm trying to remember the flooring mill there... you can contact me directly if you like.
