Korex D/W Detergent

Mich I think you know the answer to this. ..did Korex make Great Value brand dishwasher detergent in the past? Korex has shown up on Walmarts shelves recently. I also understand Korex also makes a heavy duty laundry detergent and LFS, I haven't seen these but wish I would as I think there Lemon scented.

The Powder Korex D/W Detergent is Chlorine based, I picked a box up last night, under 2$ for 75 oz box. I mixed it up at about a 30% ratio of STPP worked great. Everything was clean except one piece of flatware and a cup with a bit of kibble in the indentation on the bottom..the load was large and heavily soiled. what info do you have on this company Mich? Thank You

Sun Products used to make Great Value (Wal-Mart) dishwasher detergents until sometime in 2013. They made the Gel, Powder, and detergent pacs... for the longest time, but for some reason they we're dropped in favor of Korex.

Korex.. doesn't make horrific products, but... there Gel (which is also made for some Kroger markets, as well as Aldi & Dollar General) is crud. Even boosted with STPP... it leaves a whole lot to be desired. It's nothing like Sun Products which makes a very comparable if not better Gel to compete to Procter & Gamble's Cascade.

There Powder detergent, which is what is in Great Value's Powder now... is pretty decent. It's formulated like a heavy duty detergent.. however, I wouldn't say it compares to Huish's former detergent.

Anyway. I've been actually curious what the results would be, if someone mixed the Korex Chlorinated Powder with STPP. Glad to hear it did well :)

Thank you Mich for the info...I have a load running now, Korex, STPP I didn't add any extra bleach this time. This was a very large load from last nights dinner and the boys breakfast this morning. I'll see how it does today. I am surprised I found a bleach based in a powder. Too bad there's no pods/pacs that are bleach based lol.

D/W is done... and so is the Korex...everything came out filthy..and I mean everything. Yesterday it worked so well, but this morning...not even close. I'll let my water tank heat up and run it again with my trusted Cascade Bleach gel. Guess I'll use the Korex with its bleach to scrub out the toilet. LOL

Seriously? :/ I've mentioned that Dishwasher Detergent a few times, but never got around to trying it. Maybe you could try keeping it around, to use a pre-wash booster for your dishes.

I had such high hopes for that stuff. I used it a few times (without Phosphate) and I didn't think it did horrible. Who knows. Just sad to see it fail. Because we could have had a Phosphate Powder, Phosphate Gel & Phosphate Pacs (Dropps) thing going on here :)

Difference is the dropps come ready made with phosphates...I picked up 2 more bottles of Powerhouse liquid D/W detergent with chlorine bleach and 4.5% phosphorus at the pharmacy this morning. ..59 cents a quart size bottle..I'll try it again.

Mich I'm not completely giving up on the Korex after close inspection of the dishes it was oatmeal stuck to everything so I think someone didn't scrap well...oatmeal can put any detergent to the test. And failing again your right it can be used in the prewash.

Now...I called the 800# on the cascade today and ask why there's no cascade with chlorine bleach anymore except the gel...the girl said all the Cascades that say Clorox on the front have chlorine bleach ...I explained that chlorine is not in those formulations as there's enzymes she said yes enzymes and chlorine bleach when I tried asking her to look..she said I don't need to LOOK this is my job and I know what I'm talking about and hung up LOL.

Question Michi have a ton of different Cascade products all with enzymes, is there any reason I can't use them and just add my own chlorine bleach? Yes it will kill the enzymes but they won't work for me anyway and the surfactants will still work...thoughts??
