Table is great, but rug is too small. Chairs should stay on rug when they are pulled out. I would get a larger rug or remove that one.

Really is a special piece. Love to see a shot with the rug gone and host and hostess chair added to the mix.

I like where you're going with this, I think the table fills up 80% of the space. I was thinking about removing the table and put in a smallish 4 or 5 person round table in the corner by the windows.

The table is fine. I like it in there & I love the chairs w/ it.

A round table would be good too, however please get one that takes a leaf or two to include more guests.

The size of the table is fine but consider painting it white. The orange hue of the table is a little off but a nice light color would lighten up the feel of the table and you might even like it too. Good luck.

I agree that the table is fine that the rug should be larger since the chairs should set on the rug when pulled away. I think the suggestion of putting the table perpendicular to the window might offer a solution. Can't tell by your photo if this suggestion could work. But it's worth the try.

Remember, the table has meaning for your wife. That is very important. I would be sure to keep it, somewhere! It would make a great desk also.

Table that size also great pushed against a wall in bedroom or living room. Add a lamp and set up the laptop there. Or use it in the kitchen and build a banquette around it. Just keep it.
