Not on the wall you are showing. It is a focal point wall. If you have the need I would look for another wall, perhaps the wall to the right of the picture near the bar stools?

Shelving is a pain. You have to fill them and dust them. A couple of consoles on each side of FP with art. And a sofa table behind the sofa will break up that boring back.

Top of art should be no higher than window tops

Can you post a pic from the other side of the sofa?

How about extending the width of the mantel and building bookshelves below on each side. They could be closed if you are concerned about dust. Then large art above. A slim sofa table ( with lighting) would be a nice addition.
