The room needs some wall art.

Agree! Side wall? What kind?? Bad at picking out
  • 10 years ago

I suggest putting wall art on the wall by the shutters (behind the love seat) and the TV wall.

What kind of wall art would depend on your taste (landscape, botanical, animal, etc.)

You will want to coordinate the colors in the wall art dependent on the other colors in your room.

You may want to browse through wall art on Houzz and other sites and see if you see anything you like.

As new wall art may be rather costly, you might want to look at resale shops to see if they have anything you like. I have purchased some new wall art recently from thrift stores that was very inexpensive and that I like a lot.

    Good luck.

Mounting tv on wall when I get bigger one
  • 10 years ago

When you mount the TV on the wall, you will need someone to do the electrical, otherwise the cords will be unsightly. I'd just purchase a bigger console so that it would accommodate the new TV.

What style of console and color!?

Silver lamps? Diff end tables ? New tv console

A darker, more stylish, TV console. Inspiration:

You think dark better than light grey or white? Also what about curtain color?
I know you just bought those curtains( from your last dilemma ) but thise room won't feel right until you change them to a warmer color like a nice beige like your ottoman, nice job with that ottoman BTW.

No metal art. It's cold and hard and uninviting. Actual canvas art is what you need. And color; you could use some color. You've done a great job so far, but you need to breathe some life in the room.

Love this to go under tv!! 350 though

    Cute

That table is not long enough to go under the TV, and especially since you plan on getting a larger one.

Fatter lamps from Pier 1, warm yellowish art from Gallery Direct:

Your TV cabinet needs to be at minimum 25% longer than your TV. Longer is better. If you can't afford a longer one now, keep the one you have. Don't replace it with a cabinet that's too short.

Depending on where you put your art, and I only see two places, you need portrait format (vertical) canvases.

Such a great buy for the drapes & they look so nice with your colors. Ideas for TV:

Just make sure the new TV is not too large for the room, please. Larger lamps & some art. Art needs to appeal to you & it does not need to match anything in the room.

I agree you do need some artwork. But I also think instead you need a coffee table in the middle, and maybe put some coasters on that and a colorful bowl. You might also need a carpet, I would choose the colors either red or maybe a light blue. You might also want some pillows either light blue red or even a yellow. Other than these things to improve, your living room looks great!

What color lamps would be best?? Silver ? White?
    I think maybe silver. ;)
    BTW that canvas looks great

Please don't ever get one of those canvases cut into several pieces. They are gimmicky, dated, and don't even look good on a wall.

I like the lamps that groveraxle has put into your room, along with the first picture(looks like people and a building). The lamps look like they are silver.

The picture that you are showing for 24.99 of the buildings looks nice. I agree with groveraxle on the canvases in 3 or 4 pieces.

The console table you bought doesn't seem to serve any purpose. It looks too tall against the short brick wall, and looks like it doesn't belong next to the kitchen cabinets. Speaking of which, why don't you have a table and chairs there under the light?

If you need an entry console, I would put it there as a drop spot for stuff when you come in the door. Otherwise, I'd return it. Looks like you need other stuff first.

Here's a more balanced wall that makes a statement. Big art and a bench. I also gave you a kitchen table and chairs and lowered the mirror over the couch.

What about putting a cute chair there or even 2 . Can you put in picture to see?
Painted it.. Prob looks bad but Owell
