No room for cornice

We redid our dining room and switched from curtain panels to blinds. I love the crisp clean look but would like to spruce it up ever so subtly. Has anyone ever heard of upholstering that very tippy top piece of the blinds? I don't want to scrunch in three full cornices. TIA!
