1950s Brick Rancher Curb Appeal Please

We have an adorable brick rancher in a neighborhood full of farmhouses, brick colonials and craftsman bungalows. We are planning to sell in 5 years and think we would get a better sales price if the house fit in more with the crowd, we're happy to say its the ugliest house on the block. At the very least we will paint or remove the shutters and paint the front door. A front porch would mix well with the neighborhood. I've also seen local firms convert ranchers to bungalows. Any other creative ideas for us to mull over for the next few years? The front of the house is 38' wide with the attached sunroom another 10' wide. The attic is finished and would benefit from a dormer, there is not enough tall area for it to be considered living space in the square footage. First pic-street view, second-side view

Do you have a budget range in mind or are you in the gathering ideas stage? In the meantime, you could paint the shutters a snappy bright navy blue and touch up the door and its trim in cranberry red.

How lucky to be living in a smaller house in a grand neighborhood! Will raise the comps considerably when you do sell. I would for sure remove the shutters as they are not the right size to look like working shutters.

Go with a bright aqua for the door & think about widening the walkway & entry porch. Add color in the foundation plantings or add some to the sides of the walkway.

Do you have a door on the front of the sunroom? If so I could see adding a very sweeping deck to replace the little porch & having it round the right corner of the house to attach to the sunroom. What do you think?

No budget just yet, still contemplating ideas.

The door to the sunroom is on the back of the house.

I love aqua! What do you think of a front porch or portico? It would be nice to escape the weather while entering the house.

I'm also trying to find examples of what the house was designed to look like to return it to its original look. I'm afraid it was too plain Jane to have any records left of the look.
