The counter top is a natural stone Quartzite called Sea Pearl. With any natural stone, staining and etching can occur if not sealed properly. However, this material is actually a "harder" natural stone, harder than marble or travertine.

This is a natural Quartzite. It can be purchased from a company like ourselves or through a general contractor. Are you in Orange County CA?

Is is not "prone" to staining. Quartzite is more dense and harder than marble and works great in a kitchen, when sealed properly after installation and with regular maintenance.
