We are building a new house and our kitchen was to have a 8ft x 63" single slab island counter made of Quartz. Unfortunately the company we are using for our cabinetry etc only found out a few days ago that for this particular style the jumbo size wasn't available. Doubly unfortunate is the fact that we designed all this many months ago and they find out six weeks before closing. A seam is out of the question for my husband and me. One of the options being offered to us is a two tier island with one level just as higher as the slab is thick. My concern is how easy that would be to keep clean or will stuff constantly gather in the corner created by this. We had designed our entire kitchen and great room color scheme around that countertop and are deeply disappointed at this turn of events. Please help and TIA,
