I'm sorry Roger, I am not very familiar with the nurseries here. I have been to a couple, but none had adenium (at least when I visited). I did find a few at a really expensive place on the island, but I'll only buy from them if they're really nice.

I would like to have some may I e-mail you

Marie & Kirk know where the Nurseries are in Texas. They frequented, but could not begin to tell you.

First off - Thank you Roger for sending me some of your seeds, it's greatly appreciated. I potted some up on Thursday.

Secondly - Thank you Latinlady (Maria Elena) for sharing this thread with me, great timing!

    Happy growing everyone!!!

Hi Roger, do you still have any seed left? I started adenium from seeds a few years ago, but after they germinated I had to go out of town for about 10 days, and they became sickly and eventually died. Then I stopped gardening due to surgery, but I would love to try again.

Yes Dave email address and will send email to lynng1@hotmail.com

    I SEE MOVEMENT!!

Roger - I planted some seeds late night on the 10th, and one popped up yesterday (16th). I'm potting up the rest right now.

    Thanks,

    Yay! Congrats!

    I sowed 18 seeds on 3/13.

    Substrate: Rain moistened cactus soil

Method: Plastic-wrapped, in 80+ degree room; no bottom heat, no grow lights, no additional water.

    3/16 - 3 germinated

    3/17 - 2 germinated

So far, I have 5 seedlings. Will update this post as they germinate.

    Hi Roger,

I'm 8 for 15 so far. Hoping the count goes up. :-)

Great job, Rob. I read that the deep green color on the stems of the seedling signifies you'll have pink flowers, brown (not sunburned) means red flowers, tannish sage stems mean white flowers, and white stems are albinos, which will not survive because the seedling has no chlorophyll. I'm going to be very observant to test how true that is.

I maxed out at the original 5 ... "The Roger Five," as I have lovingly dubbed them. Will post a photo when they are a month old. I keep them on the porch, receiving four hours of warm (not hot) direct morning sun and indirect sunlight the remainder of the day. Bottom watering every 2 days when dry.

What did I do wrong? 1) Didn't know to soak the seeds for 2-4 hrs before sowing...lesson learned! 2) Next time, l'll ditch the plastic. I think it's just overkill for my climate...kept the substrate too moist.

I dug up the seeds that failed to germinate...I admit to having a little bit of a mad scientist streak in my quest to understand all things encountered, especially those that go SNAFU, so as not to repeat the error! All were empty with the exception of one that oozed white liquid when I squeezed it...perhaps a waterlogged seedling?

Thank you, Roger. This was only my second time planting seeds. The third time should be a charm. If at first you don't succeed...

Maria if you need more let me know l still have 100 or so seeds .

Hi everyone. I'm watching my seeds for growth daily. So exciting!!! Thanks again Roger!

    Roger,

Thank you! You have already been so generous and given me more than my share. I am going to graciously decline but only to allow someone else the pleasure and opportunity to grow an Adenium from seed...It's a real treat. I promise to take good care of "The Roger Five" - Will periodically share their progress.

    Hi katiedolittle,

I've never planted and grown a plumeria from seed - but grow roses, etc. I would love to try some seeds if you have any. i am going to order some cuttings tomorrow - and am in love with plumeria - reading all the advice here. i will email my address to you in case you have some seeds left.

Update on my "Roger 5" - These are the 5 seeds that germinated for me from the group Roger (katiedolittle) sent me. Unfortunately, I cooked the others by wrapping them in plastic.

    Sown: March 13, 2016

    April 6, 2016

    .

May 20, 2016 (Except the one on the lower left, which is from a newer batch.)

I find it very interesting how different they each look from one another.

    They're so cute!

I sowed 6 adenium seeds I received from a seller on amazon which had pretty good reviews, but none germinated, and this was a month ago. I still have some left, will try the plastic bag method.

Katie, I am very much a newbie to Adenium but would love to try to grow from seeds. If you can send me some I would love to give it a try. I am in Florida. USA

Thank you for responding, Roger. If you ever do have any seeds. Keep me in mind. And I will look in the plumeria forum as you suggested. This site is great for learning and the pictures are wonderful. Thanks again.
