Love the cabinets, but not with the countertop. You need more contrast between the two. Go lighter or darker with the cabinets. Will you post pictures of the kitchen?

Remember that you will not see the full slab at any time, unless you are putting in such a large island. You will mostly see 20 - 24 inches of this at the same time and then it is not that busy.

I agree that you might want to think of cabinets with a bit more contrast in color to the slab, maybe darker cabinets at the bottom and light cabinets for the uppers. that will ground the kitchen a bit more and make it feel stronger than when you have a kitchen where the cabinets and counters just about match and float in the kitchen.

If you do decide to go with these cabinets and this counter then ground the counters with a darker flooring.

Thank you for all your input. It would definitely be a monochromatic look, but maybe that would be ok with the busier countertops? It might be a bit masculine for a family home though. We have almost the same slab and went with snowwhite cabinets and white subway tile back splash. The counters are lovely and the flow is what makes them unique.

that is a beautiful slab of fantasy brown. I am doing the same but with white cabinets. I absolutely love your cabinet color. have u thought about using it for just the island and then maybe a white/ivory everywhere else? just a thought.

Wannag02 I love your white cabinets! My husband will simply not go for white, though I love them. White with our two littles makes him nervous. K. Robinson, no island, just a peninsula. It's a "u" shaped run of counters, with a small piece across from the "u" if that makes sense. Wish we did have an island though, I love when it's used that way. Thanks so much for all the input!

wannag02, how are your countertops holding up? I really want fantasy brown but am nervous about etching...

LOVE them. Family life has not impacted them at all. They were sealed before install . Normal clean up..all great. plus I am happy to note that the movement in the stone hides any smudges. Fingerprints and any smear are almost invisible unless you really really look close. Go for it .

I am loving all the photos, we looked at fantasy brown but there was so much grey in the full slabs we passed, would love to find some with the white throughout

Be sure that your cabinets match (MATCH) one color in the counter or you will forever notice that it does not match.

feliz lady I agree, I love fantasy brown but only if i could find a slab with a bit of lighter brown that would pull from the cabinets
