Counter height window sill

Tile company is templating the kitchen counter tops today, and I have tonight to make (what I consider) a fairly big decision.

Due to scratches on the slab they can't cut it so the counter top simply extends to the window sill (like you typically see for counter height windows). An extra piece is required, therefore I'll have another seam.

Now I must choose (1) have a 3' long seam where the 1-2" deep sill butts up to the counter top or (2) have an extra piece set above the seam to cover it a la:

*not the same material we're using

I hate option (2), but tile company has me concerned. Since it's a white Silestone, they claim the seams will be more visible than if it were marble. I've looked through old threads regarding Silestone seams, and I think I could live with them. I just can't get onboard with this:

Am I crazy? Is this really more of a "finished look" as the installers claim?

Seam it. Nice and flat. (And why the heck can't they get a slab without scratches? I guess I don't know much about Silestone....)

Wait, you can't get a Silestone slab without scratches? What am I not understanding here? Silestone is a man-made material. I could understand if you were using a marble or granite but not Silestone.

Totally can. But I'd have to wait on them to make a trip to Houston (120+ miles) on their time. I picked a slab from their yard instead to get the ball rolling.

Long story short, small town, few options. This business owner is condescending and difficult to work with, but I'm just ready to FINISH this house and move in. Maybe not the wisest choice (and probably not one most would make), but when it comes down to the wire, I'll compromise if it gets me into my home sooner.

I have a seam in my ceasarstone counter and I barely notice it at all. I'd have them seam it.

Have them do a seam. If it's not acceptable you can have them make a slab to cover it, as in option 2.

What mama says.... Seam it, if you don't like it, piece over it

Unless you update/renovate frequently, what will you be happiest with in the long run? I've taken the get it done approach in the past and never was happy with the results in the long run.

Dropped by the shop while they're piecing it together. I can easily live with the seam. Phew! Thanks for being a sounding board!
