Can I suggest you rearrange your furniture: Move your cane chairs opposite your sofa and the smaller armchair to where they are. Your armchair is too removed from your grouping - it is neither here nor there.
Secondly a rug underneath the seating area might anchor the floor and add visual interest.
Third is your wallspace around your fireplace. Bobbi made some good suggestions about symmetrical cabinetry. Or you could go asymmetrical
In the left hand corner create a desk area with a nice cabinet and mirror, lamp and chair (preferably one that echoes your cane chairs). On the right side, find a low piece of furniture - even a long trunk and place it mid point in the wall. You can then hang a large picture on that wall. This will enable you to fill your room elegantly and with pieces that seem to complement your current furniture.
