I actually don’t see the reason for an area rug in a carpeted bedroom unless you really hate the carpet.as for bedding that can be whatever you like , we can all have an opinion. I like drapes in bedrooms for their soft look a headboard is a must IMO.

Based on the photos provided you would benefit from a layered approach to bedding. Window treatment layering could be a bamboo or fiber woven shade flanked with soft fabric drapery panels. All white bedding (not ivory) with good thread count will keep the bed looking fresh and crisp. Also note in your inspiration photos they make or dress the bed to ensure all sides look finished. This translates to having a custom duvet cover made or more economically purchasing a size larger coverlet than your bed to allow for more draping on all sides. It doesn't need to hit the floor - about 1-2'' from floor works well. I agree with Patricia Colwell Consulting - no area carpet over wall to wall. Thank you for these ideas! Regarding the rug, I guess I don't really like the carpet and thought putting something to coordinate with bedding would be a good idea, but I will try it without a rug.

you have such a beautiful room i love it specially the window, personally i don't like anything hanging above my head but headboard definitely yes. Also the lamps on the bed side i like everything symmetrical and aligned, with dark color wooden table with drawers. I would add soft off white window shades and drapes and to make it look overly cozy a micro fiber rugs :) i.e if it would be me
