I love your curtains. The room is pleasant, but it needs a bit more weight, energy and pulling together. The first thing I notice is the rather blank corner next to the display cabinet. The chair isn't doing anything to help. I suggest a storage ottoman, and art above it on the wall next to the cabinet. This one might help to integrate the colour of the curtains into the room as a whole. At the moment they look a bit separate. (One can never be sure of colours on screen.)

I can just see a combination like this in that corner. The art is by a stunning watercolour artist named Betsy Jacaruso -- I just found her, looking for a traditional floral painting for you, in line with the picture you already have. Have a look at her landscapes -- dream time. http://www.betsyjacarusoartist.com/

Oops, must go work now. Good luck.

I disgaree the curtains just look odd IMO it would be better to have the red panels on each side. Even if drapes are never drawn they should look like they could be. The red is a nice pop of color, when you leave your table settings on it makes a home DR look like a store so just a nice center piece and a runner maybe as for the corner how about just a nice big plant it would be nice to see a larger light fixture hung a bit lower over the table andcentered ( it looks off in the pic) and a much llarger piece of art where the small one is now.

Hard to tell but possibly turn table so length runs from door to stairs, then place buffet on wall where picture is hanging. Add a more substantial light fixture and an oval planter as center piece. Pick up seasonal colorful flowers or greenery from local nursery and nestle different plants in oval planter for color as centerpiece.

Curtains are not good... if you place a rug under dining table and chairs will look perfect ...also add more lights too....for more colors and interaction to walls add a large original wall artwork ....for more artwork check my online shop ....
