Apparently you avoided the "King" tides and resulting flooding I've been seeing on TV?? Living in florida rather used to floods but not with ice bergs in them lol. We've decided to have tornadoes and record rainfalls this year for the dry season and it's already made it into the 30's lol

30 degrees? Up here at 30 degrees we put away the shorts and turn off the AC.

I missed out on the icebergs, thank god, too far inland. I did have to shovel off the roof of the sun room tho.

It's been crazy around here. Two weeks ago tulips were sprouting because it was so warm, then 27" of snow. Next week it is going to be 60 degrees.

It is 25.5C with 76% humidity at the moment. How come the USA is the last place in the civilised world with temps in F?

Anyway, I know that snow is evil from personal experience, but I didn't have to worry about where to dump the stuff when I dug the car out. Must be a pain in suburbia!

There is a lot of logic that goes with the metric system. When traveling in Europe I noticed a flaw in the process. The thermostats were in 1 degree increments which is close to 2 degrees F. Harder to dial in a comfortable temperature. If the thermostats offered decimals that could be one solution. Or change Centigrade to zero for freezing as it is now but change boiling water to 200 instead of 100 then the thermostats would have a finer adjustment possibility.

Years ago I knew an old woodworker. He was born and raised on a farm in Ohio. He told me his grandfather used a corn stalk as a tape measure and named tiny fractions frog hairs and fart skins. 2 fart skins to the frog hair. Regardless of that beginning he was a master of his trade to behold.

The US changed its currency to decimal, but chickened out on the rest. Although, science in the US is metric now and NASA after killing off a number of its astronauts went metric too.
