Is the rug jute?

I have dark floos and am contemplating a jute rug for under a dining room table. I'm concerned about the shedding I've heard occurs with most jute rugs. Any advice? Is sisal a better alternative?

I prefer jute rugs like the one shown above -- sisal almost always has a latex backing, and woven rugs like this are much easier to clean (the dirt goes through the rug, not into a latex backing forever). A woven jute rug will shed but that will decrease over time and with vacuuming. I would put a pad under this rug too to keep it in place while vacuuming and moving chairs about. For a similar rug, see http://www.amirarugs.com/SearchResults.asp?searching=Y&sort=5&search=jute+woven&show=100&page=1.

Thank you for your inquiry! Jute and Sisal rugs are very similar in the way that they act in an environment. Any rug that is made from natural fibers is going to shed some. It is really a personal choice!!

    Best of luck!

THIS is wonderful. Just enough red. Pop of white. Great looking space.
