It looks like the plant was sold before it had a chance to make a root system.

Well, this yucca is definitely not dead! I know that yuccas can stand a lot of stress, and with proper care, this plant should be able to recover fully.

I think you should try to use a well draining mix, try a mix like Al's gritty mix. You can search that mix here on the forum; I don't have the time to list it out right now (my apologies).

I do think watering was the problem, so if you just reduce the watering, I think it will do fine. Also, I may be wrong, but I think yucca's need a high level of light; try to keep it in a place where it gets good southern or western sun exposure and it should do well.

So I change the soil, this was almost three weeks ago now and the plant seems to be getting much greener. I have changed the soil, and haven't water since. When do you think I should water again?

Usually when I water, I go with a sort of 'gut instinct' if you know what I mean, and just learn from my mistakes, adjusting the watering to the specific plant. All plants, even of the same species, vary greatly, so a lot of the time generalized watering does not end up working so well.

But those are my thoughts.

Also, it is very significant to note, that there is a huge amount of wealth in information on this forum; I have found that I can figure out pretty much anything I need to know about caring for any kind of plant.

Can i revive my yucca i bought last year it got
