Save my Yucca!

Hello,

I recently purchased a large Yucca plant, and knowing nothing about them gave it way too much water. In the week since I bought it, the leaves have start to curl, and they have this yellowish tint to them. Almost like something is overtaking it. When I bought it, it was outside in very cold Chicago weather for about 15 minutes, and was wondering if maybe it went into shock?

I took it out of its pot today, and the soil was very wet and was dripping. I knocked the wet soil off the base of the plant, and re-potted it in new dry soil. Do you think it is dead? Was this a lost cause? How long should I wait before giving it minimal water? Does it have root rot? Any advice would be great!!
